OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
• Electricity is Extra and Based on Consumption - The Dominican Republic is a developing country and it has challenges in regard to cost effective electricity distribution. Therefore, to encourage renters to conserve electricity during their stay, they will be responsible for electricity charges during their stay. Also, this allows us to offer lower rates since we do not have to include more $$$ per night to take electricity consumption into consideration
• We will verify the electricity meter readings before check-in and after check-out to determine your electricity usage. You will then be charged for actual usage. It is very simple - you pay for what you consume. We read the meter at check in and read again prior to check out. The meter can be self-monitored daily. The rate is USD $0.35 per kw/h.
• Normal consumption is USD $5-10/day. Above average consumption usually will not exceed USD $20/day. Ultimately this up to you and your consumption. You will be charged for your consumption which may exceed the amounts indicated above.
• We collect an ELECTRICITY DEPOSIT. It is just a DEPOSIT, real consumption calculated at the end of your stay and deducted from the DEPOSIT PAID. Refund will be processed within 48 hours after check-out.
• RENTALS 30 DAYS OR LESS: USD $20 per night
• RENTALS MORE THAN 30 DAYS: USD $500 per booking. Every 30 days we will read the meter and collect payment for the consumption.

DISCOUNTS
• There is a 5% weekly discount or a 10% monthly discount - from the rental rate. We apply these discounts automatically after you book and prior to processing the payment.

    Overall we had a very good experience this winter in Playa Turquesa, and would certainly recommend this location to other snow birds. Some of the positives: The property (and unit) were very clean. The grounds crew were always out and about working on the lawns and shrubs. The pools were very nice, clean and well maintained. THe location is excellent with lots of easy access to restaurants and shopping. We found the local bus system very convenient. The beach was well maintained, fully staffed, and secure. You can safely walk for miles in either direction. The complex is secured, and access is well controlled by security. We found the masterbed quite comfortable. The unit came with all the amenities including things such as a bbq, blender, 6 burner stove, fully sized fridge, and water cooler. The TV had a good variety of channels, and the WIFI was fast and reliable. This particular unit has quick and easy access to the pool and ocean, and has a nice view from the balcony. There was always a breeze coming in from the ocean. We always left our windows and patio door open, day and night, and never needed the A/C.

    We really didn’t have many complaints with this unit or location. The living room furniture could use some upgrading, and wasn’t particularly comfortable...although we didn’t spend much time sitting inside. Noise was sometimes an issue, and a common complaint we heard from guests in other units as well. Much of the night time noise comes from outside the complex, and is beyond their control. The majority of nights were quite, and we slept well, however we did experience some very late balcony parties from inside the complex; we would have liked to see Playa Turquesa take a more proactive approach in curtailing some of these. parties that were still going on at 3-4 am. The location of this particular unit is much quieter overall than some of the other units that are closer to the street area.

    This location was perfect for my family - my parents, husband and 5 month old son. We were steps away from the pool which was seldom crowded and just a few more steps to the beach. There were always chairs, everyone was friendly and it was a good atmosphere for families. Everything we needed was so close so we didn't have to spend more time in the car with the baby. The management company was located very close which was reassuring. They were very responsive and helpful in answering all of our questions. A BBQ grill was listed on the website but was not at the location- we notified the management company and within a day they had delivered one for us. We were super happy! I would strongly recommend this place for anyone looking to take it easy and spend time on the beach, at the pool, or lounging around. A great experience!
